Episode Five: Daniel 10:18-19
Dear friends, welcome to Peace Prayers. My name is Juli, and I would love to be able to spend some time with you today. What I'd like to do is read a Scripture from the Bible about peace, and then pray it together over our lives. That way we can have a few minutes to start our day with God's peace. I'm so excited to get started with you. Thank you for joining me today.
Today's verse is Daniel 10:18-19, and it's in the Message version.
“Then this humanlike figure touched me again and gave me strength. He said, ‘Don’t be afraid, friend. Peace. Everything is going to be all right. Take courage. Be strong.’
Even as he spoke, courage surged up within me. I said, ‘Go ahead, let my master speak. You’ve given me courage.’”
This verse is from Daniel when he has been praying, and an angel is sent to him to give him an answer. So let's pray together.
Jesus, I thank You that You answer our prayers.
There are some times when we've been praying for something for so long that it seems like You’re not listening. But, God, You've always proved and shown through Your word and through our lives that You do listen and that You are there. You send us messages. You send us angels. You send us other people to help us understand what it is that You want us to say, and we can read in Your word how true that is, and we can feel that assurance.
So I pray today for the people who've been praying for a long time, who have burdens on their heart, who have sorrows, and who have fear that maybe You aren't listening or that You don't care. I pray that You would just wipe that away. Let that be something that is just wiped from their memory. We don't have to be afraid. We can have courage, and when we don't have fear, LORD, we have peace.
Fear would try to take control of us and say that You aren't real or that You don't care or that the answer is not gonna be something that will help us. But, LORD, we don't want that. LORD, we want to know that we can be strong. We want to know that we don't have to be afraid. So I pray that You would send an angel to us to touch us today, to give us that supernatural burst of courage that replaces the fear that the enemy would try to fill us with.
And when we have that courage, that we would then feel peace, and we would be ready to hear from You. Sometimes, God, I think that the answer doesn't come because we're not ready to hear it. So I pray that we would be, because we have no fear, because we are filled with peace. We can open up our hearts and our minds so that Your word can fill our spirit. LORD, what better thing can there be than to hear from You, to hear Your voice, to hear a message spoken specifically for us?
LORD, I wanna hear Your voice. I wanna be in Your presence, and know the truth that You have for me, know the answers You have for me, know the path You have for me. Oh, let me hear it. Open my ears so that I can hear it, so that it can fill my heart and then I can go forward with that courage, with that peace, and with that assurance, with that direction.
I don't know what to do, LORD. I really have no answers. So I cry out to You for the answers, and there are so many people who are crying out to You for answers. Answer us. Oh, Father, answer us. Help us to know the answer.
