Dear friends, welcome to Peace Prayers. My name is Juli, the creator and host of the podcast, and I would love to be able to spend some time with you today. Our goal is to take a few moments and dive deep into God’s word before meditating on it ourselves. I’ll read a scripture from the Bible, and then we’ll pray it together over our lives. Invite a friend to listen in and let’s start our day with God’s peace. I am so excited to get started; thank you for joining me today.

You’re listening to Episode 113 and today’s verse is Galatians 2:21

I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!

Let’s pray together.

I have a very simple prayer today, God, and that is to beg for Your grace to be abundant in my life.

Too often I assume that it is up to me. Up to me to win salvation, up to me to be a good person, up to me to fix all those around me, up to me to uphold the law. Me. Me. Me. I put a heavy burden on myself, chains I know no one else has ever been able to bear. And I do it because I trust only in myself.

And such a state of mind is nothing less than disrespectful to Jesus, acting like the immense weight of His sacrifice was nothing. It’s spitting in the eye of my Savior. Oh, Jesus, please forgive me. It’s one more sin You already wiped clean on the cross, but please forgive me. And help me never to make light of what You did for me.

I pray to be filled to the brim and overflowing with grace. May grace be what I long for each and every day, what stays on my lips and resides in my heart. May it be in my every action and evident to everyone around me. I pray that grace leads me in this life, a soul-shaking avalanche of grace. Let it pour forth onto everyone I meet. May I be known for Your grace, for it will always be Your grace and not mine.

I can see You are teaching me to appreciate Your grace and to reflect it then to others around me. I cannot judge where I have been forgiven. May that be so true, more every day. And when I fail, forgive me and give more grace to heal that which I may have hurt.

Let this word saturate through my life, embedded upon my bones, and engraved in my spirit. I plead the mercy of Your grace. Thank You that You are ever ready to give it. That You never withhold from me this great, generous gift. You are so gracious, God, so giving. It is because of You there is such a thing as grace.

I pray this in the grace-filled and grace-giving name of Jesus. Amen.

That is the end of our collective prayer, but don’t forget that you can keep praying and meditating on this on your own. Thank you so much for joining me and I hope you have a peaceful rest of your day. I’d love to ask you a favor before we go and that is to please subscribe and leave a review for the podcast if you haven’t already. That is the best way to invite other people to join us in our prayers and it helps me more than you can know.

And let’s get to know each other better.
