Dear friends, welcome to Peace Prayers. My name is Juli, the creator and host of the podcast, and I would love to be able to spend some time with you today. Our goal is to take a few moments and dive deep into God’s word before meditating on it ourselves. I’ll read a scripture from the Bible, and then pray it over our lives. Please join me in the prayer. Invite a friend to listen in and let’s begin our day with God’s peace. I am so excited to get started; thank you for joining me today.

You’re listening to Episode 121 and today’s verse is Isaiah 54:13.

All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace.

Let’s pray together.

LORD, today my prayer is for the children in our lives and for the parents who raise them. We do live in perilous times when misinformation and deception is so prevalent. Our enemy loves to deceive and to divide the hearts of children from their fathers. He loves to steal, kill, and destroy the beautiful knowledge and truth You have placed in this world. And so we need to pray that our young people will know You. We pray for revival, to renew their hearts and minds, restoring the prodigals, and helping build strong people for strong families and strong churches.

I pray for the parents to come. LORD, help them to know You, to trust You, and to let You build a strong foundation in their life, one that is contingent on You. Raise them up to be wise, patient, courageous, kind, and truthful. I pray that You prepare their hearts to be to their children what You are to us. May they model Your agape love, may they protect their children from evil, may they be discerning to handle each twist and turn, and may they be strong in knowledge and discipline so they may grow up men and women of righteousness.

I pray for the parents who are already here. I ask, God, that You help them in their day-to-day struggle to be good parents, and to raise their children in godly ways. Help them teach and model for their children right and wrong. May they speak truth and not be deceived by the enemy’s lies. May they protect their children from those who would harm them, even if that harm looks innocent. May they be courageous to always speak the truth and to be kind. Oh, God, heal their relationships with their children. Where there is estrangement, may there be reconciliation. May their marriage and relationship with each other be strong, so they can build a strong family unit. Help them to communicate, to teach, to admonish, to discipline, to love, and to live well. Grow them as they grow their children. Enable them to provide. Prosper them.

I pray for the children of this world. Lord, protect them, from the unborn child in the womb to the adult caring for their own parents now. Let them grow and learn and be full of grace. From every age, may children be safe with their parents and may their parents help them to know Christ. Shower these children with love and protection and goodness, teaching them Your way, guiding them in Your truth. There is nothing better than to know the Father’s love, so please help these children to know it and cherish it and hold on to it. Will You teach them, God? Just as this verse says, You teach them so their peace will be great. Nothing can be done unless You enable it. So, Father, be our great Teacher and Guide, shepherding in love and mercy as You have always done. Heap Your peace upon our children.

Let them not despair of the evils of this world, but let them trust in You, having hope for the victory You have already given us. Let them be compassionate without being blind, let them see clearly without giving in to hopelessness, let them act without hatred or judgment, help them to seek justice and mercy equally, and to do it all under the power and direction of Your Holy Spirit, without trying to accomplish anything in their own strength. But let them use the tools and knowledge and authority You have given them, being lovers of the truth, givers without reserve, and not confusing tolerance with deception.

Please protect our parents and their ability to parent their children. Please protect marriage and family in our world, these amazing institutions created by You. Please help each parent and child to know their place in Your family. And may Your peace reign. Through trial and turmoil, may it reign. Let this verse be prophecy for our world, for the children to come, for the parents who live in obedience to You, and for the church which glorifies Your name.

I pray this in the peaceful name of Jesus. Amen.

That is the end of our collective prayer, but don’t forget that you can keep praying and meditating on this on your own. Thank you so much for joining me and I hope you have a peaceful rest of your day. I’d love to ask you a favor before we go and that is to please subscribe and leave a review for the podcast if you haven’t already. That is the best way to invite other people to join us in our prayers and it helps me more than you can know.

I also want to get to know each other better. Follow me over on Instagram where I’ve recently updated my handle to reflect my married name. It’s now thejulihernandez where you can DM me prayer requests or suggestions on verses you’d like me to pray on the podcast or just let me know what’s going on in your life. Another way to get in touch with what I’m up to is on my website at www.thejulihernandez.com. My website hosts a transcription of each prayer so that you can pray them whenever you like. You’ll also see monthly blog posts that detail my current writing projects and I can’t wait to engage with you on that. Let’s connect, but for now, Shalom.
