Episode 129: Psalm 27:8
Listen here
Dear friends, welcome to Peace Prayers. My name is Juli, the creator and host of the podcast, and I would love to be able to spend some time with you today. Our goal is to take a few moments and dive deep into God’s word before meditating on it ourselves. I’ll read a scripture from the Bible, and then pray it over our lives. Please join me in the prayer. Invite a friend to listen in and let’s begin our day with God’s peace. I am so excited to get started; thank you for joining me today.
You’re listening to Episode 129 and today’s verse is Psalm 27:8.
My heart has heard You say, “Come and talk with me.”
And my heart responds, “LORD, I am coming.”
Let’s pray together.
Oh, Jesus, let this be my heart’s prayer. Every day, every moment.
It’s too easy, LORD, to be busy or callous or emotional and block out Your heart’s cry. Your voice is too often pushed aside or shouted over. I am sorry. Forgive me and help me to rise each morning, eager for You, for what You have to say.
Is it not true that we prioritize what we love? That when we truly love someone and want to be with them, we make the time. We refuse to let time pass without seeing them, we are passionate about spending time with them. We’d rather hear that person’s voice than anything in the world. It’s why lovers are so obnoxious, because they are single-minded.
But there’s nothing obnoxious about devoting myself to You. It’s truly the best decision I could make. No time is ever wasted with You. Every moment is worth it because it brings me closer to You. It shows me how much more I have to discover in You and it blesses me abundantly because You can’t help but better the ones You are with.
Today, I make a heart’s vow, a passionate love response. I hear because You reach out. I can only respond because You crossed the chasm between us. So I rise and I run and I fling myself in Your arms. I am coming to you, the only one worth anything in the universe. You are all and I open myself up to Your instruction, Your voice, Your love, Your call, Yourself.
Be with me, LORD Jesus. Stay with me forever. Don’t let me run away. Let’s sit and talk and be together and be in love. I am your Bride and I am anxious for Your love. I respond and I will forever. Teach me how to be. Surround me in Your love. Let it be a shield wall between me and anything that would distract me from the ultimate gift of Your Presence. Allow me to hear You clearly and fully and to trust You forever with all of my heart. I am vulnerable before You and there is no place safer.
I come, Jesus. I come and I adore You. I come and bow before You. I come to worship You and give You praise. I quiet my heart to listen. Speak and speak again. Oh, never stop speaking, my beloved Jesus.
I pray this in the quiet and loving name of Jesus. Amen.
Wow, another end to another season. I hope you enjoyed this time as much as I did. I am grateful for each and every one of you who listens to and shares in these prayers.
I am going to go on hiatus again between seasons. Don’t worry, I’ll let you know when I’m back, but make sure to subscribe to the podcast so you don’t miss anything. I would love it if you could leave a rating and a review for it as well. That is the best way to spread the word about the podcast and have people join us in our prayers. Thank you so much for those who have already left a review or who have shared the podcast with your friends. It means the world to me.
If you’d like to stay in touch while the hiatus is happening, please follow me over on Instagram at thejulihernandez. I’d love any feedback or questions you have about the podcast and it will really help me shape next season for y’all.
The other place I’d love to see you is on my website, www.thejulihernandez.com. This site holds a transcription of each prayer so you can pray them whenever you like, but it’s also where I post on my monthly blog which details fun stories about fiction and my writing process and behind the scenes information on my latest book. Head on over and check it out today!
Until we meet again. Shalom.
