Episode 130: Isaiah 54:13

Dear friends, welcome to Peace Prayers. My name is Juli, the creator and host of the podcast, and I would love to be able to spend some time with you today. Our goal is to take a few moments and dive deep into God’s word before meditating on it ourselves. I’ll read a scripture from the Bible, and then pray it over our lives. Please join me in the prayer. You’re listening to Episode 130 and today’s verse is Isaiah 54:13.

All your children will be taught by the LORD, and great will be their peace.

Let’s pray together.

LORD, I come to You today with a humble prayer for parents everywhere. On behalf of them all, I pray for our children. It’s such an awesome responsibility to be a parent and to partner with You in the creation of life and the raising up of Your children. I know we want to be the best we can possibly be and we can only do so with Your help.

Father, be our example and lead us in the way You want us to go. Help us to be ever attuned to the wisdom only You have. May our eyes constantly be in Your Word and our ears forever hearing Your voice and our lips speaking only what we know is Your truth. Let our actions and reactions, our emotions and desires, our will and our effort be Yours.

I thank You, LORD, that You do not abandon us. Even when we have abandoned You. I pray that the future of our children will be Yours and that they will know You all the days of their lives. May it be so, even from the womb, that they hear Your voice and they know Your love for them. Weave together their destinies as You weave together their bodies. For I know time is nothing to You and You see who they will be. Oh, let them be Yours.

As our children grow, may they indeed be taught by You. Let Your words and knowledge and thoughts and truth be theirs, treasures never to be forgotten. Help us to be Your instruments, the tools used to mold these precious ones into the great saints You created them to be. I know we could never replace the ultimate teaching that comes from Your Spirit drawing them to Yourself. So call them, Father, call them to be Yours. Help them understand and keep them in Your mighty hand.

I pray Your divine protection over them. Let them be safe in every way. Keep them whole and unharmed, their bodies healthy and their minds bright. Let no disease or injury harm them. Give them energy and vitality. Help them grow strong, intelligent, and true with Your help and by Your will. Send Your angels around them as a hedge of protection, flaming warriors holding back the evil sent against them. I pray Your blood to cover them and Your powerful name to hold them fast. I pray against every evil spirit or authority that would try to harm them. In our authority as their parents we claim Your protection and we say no to any darkness trying to disturb their growth and their relationship with You. Let the enemy be defeated in their lives and may no deception gain root in their minds, emotions, wills, or spirits. May only You dwell there, dear Jesus. I pray this in Your name.

I pray forgiveness for the mistakes we make and the ability to help repair them. May our relationships with our children be built on love and trust. May we discipline and teach well and be willing to admit our mistakes. Keep us from anger, from our own sin natures, from our own hurts being visited upon our children. Help us to be mature and calm, wise and patient, and continue to teach and mold us to be better parents each and every day. I thank You we do not have to do this alone. Send us the help we need.

I claim this verse on behalf of our children and that Your great peace will be upon them every moment of their lives. I plead Your supernatural peace that passes understanding to blanket them and protect them. In every way, be LORD of their lives and the dearest Father they need. Thank You for teaching our children as only You can.

In Your strong and peaceful name I pray. Amen.

This was a special episode of the show because it is the last one for the foreseeable future. Since the last season I have been blessed with becoming pregnant and will soon give birth to a daughter.
