Episode 12: Isaiah 26:12
Dear friends, welcome to Peace Prayers. My name is Juli, and I would love to be able to spend some time with you today. What I'd like to do is read a Scripture from the Bible about peace, and then pray it together over our lives. That way we can have a few minutes to start our day with God's peace. I'm so excited to get started with you. Thank you for joining me today.
Today's verse is Isaiah 26, verse 12.
LORD, You established peace for us. All that we have accomplished, You have done for us.
Let's pray together.
LORD, I'm grateful that I can come to You today and admit that I really don't have anything to do with the success of my life. What happens is not really contingent on me in the long run. You have established peace. And I think sometimes we get caught up in what we're supposed to do. We get caught up in naming our achievements or wanting to make sure others know how well off we are, what we've done.
But, Jesus, I just pray that today we would have established humility in our hearts. It's not that we can't achieve great things. It's not that we aren't amazing, because You created us that way, but that's the point. You created us that way. In the end, everything comes back to You.
Our point of origin is You. We're made in Your image. And that's amazing too, because there's one piece of us that reflects You and Your glory in a way that nobody else can. Help us to remember that today. Our unique individual reflection of who You are.
And even though it's You who accomplished that in us, it's You who gave us everything that we have to be able to do everything that we do. We can look into ourselves and be appreciative of that, but we also can press forward. We can use the gifts that have been given to us. We can work on the skills that we have. We can increase our knowledge. We can be kind and cheer other people on.
And that peace, that completeness comes from knowing who we are in You, that our identity comes from You, not from anybody else's opinion of us, not from what we do, not from what we don't do, not from what the world's opinion is. Jesus, I wanna make sure that today, I give my utmost for Your highest, as the saying goes. I exist for Your glory, and in Your glory, I find peace. And that was something that You wanted for us.
You didn't want us to live in strife or fear, hatred, and division. In the garden, You created peace. You created wholeness, created unity between man and woman, and between all of mankind and Yourself. What a blessed state. It's kind of hard for me to picture, but, Jesus, let us work towards that on this earth using what You've given us, acknowledging Your sovereignty, acknowledging who we really are.
What little things are in our hearts that keep us from that? What lies from the enemy? What events from our past? What current circumstances? What's keeping us from You, Jesus, from doing what we've been called to do, glorify You with how we've been made, bringing others to You, showing them that unique piece of You in us, calling to that unique piece in them.
Help us to remember that today. Even for just a few moments, we can build on that progress, LORD. Open the door so that we can hear, so that we can be full of conviction of what needs to happen and of who we are. I don't wanna lose sight of that, God. I don't wanna lose sight of who I am in You.
Please remind me because I am so forgetful, because there's so much to distract me. Thank You, Jesus. Thank You for peace and thank You for creating us. Thank You for wanting us in particular to come to life and to represent who You are in the world.
Wherever we are today, let's stop, let's be grateful, and let's keep going.
In Your name I pray. Amen.
That is it for me today, my friends. Thank you so much for joining, and I hope you have a wonderful, peaceful rest of your day.
