Episode One: Isaiah 26:3-4
Transcription
Dear friends, welcome to Peace Prayers. My name is Juli, and I would love to be able to spend some time with you today. What I'd like to do is read a scripture from the Bible about peace and then pray it together over our lives. That way, we can have a few minutes to start our day with God’s peace. I’m so excited to get started with you. Thank you for joining me today.
I would like to start out with a scripture verse from Isaiah 26. The reason that I've chosen this particular scripture is because they are verses that remind me so much of peace and of peaceful times in my life. Whenever I would stay over at my grandparents' house for a sleepover, at night they would pray this prayer together, that came from Isaiah.
So because they said this verse over me so much, it became ingrained in me as a pathway to peace. They read it in the King James, so that is the version I'm going to read for you today. And then we will pray it together.
Isaiah 26, verses 3-4: Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee because he trusteth in Thee. Trust ye in the Lord forever, for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength.
Jesus, You provide places of peace for us.
Places where our minds do not have to be full of distraction. We don't have to worry about the little things that continually creep into our mind. We don't have to do that because we trust in You. And so it makes our minds be fixed upon You, and then You provide us with perfect peace. And I love that, Father.
It's not just common peace. It's not just temporary peace. It's perfect. And we get to do that forever Because in You, we find our strength and we find that strength forever. So I pray that today, Lord, I pray that no matter what we face, I pray no matter who we talk to, no matter what thoughts we think, that our minds will be stayed on You, that they will be focused on who You are and who You say that we are so that we can feel peace, perfect peace, and we can trust You.
And when we do that, God, You give us strength. I pray that today for me, I pray that today for everyone who hears the sound of my voice. You have the ability to do that for us. No one else can provide this for us, Lord. So we hold out our hands in anticipation of that peace and that trust and that strength and let it just flow through us. And when we do that, God, it's a little bit brighter. It's a little bit calmer. We have that ability to face the demons that we were going to face today. Life is hard. Life is very hard, but You are so gracious to us that You have provided this way for us to have peace in the midst of it.
So I pray that for us today, Jesus, I pray that in Your name. Amen.
That is it from me today, my friends. I wish you everlasting, perfect peace for the rest of your day, and we will see you again on Monday. Thanks for joining.
