Episode 32: Isaiah 41:10

Today’s verse is Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Let’s pray together.
Jesus, even though I know this verse was written for your people Israel, I thank You that it is still true for Your people today. I am so grateful that the words written in the Bible are for all time, that they apply to me, just as they applied back then.
Today I pray for people who are bound by fear, for those who live in constant terror of what may be. For those worried about their loved ones, for those in fear for their lives, for those who are constantly nettled by the all-consuming worries of living life. I pray for us, that we would no longer give in to that fear.
Jesus, help us as we struggle against it, as we live every day knowing that there is an enemy of our souls who would try to separate us from You. We are constantly bombarded with worry, distraction, contradicting information, and our own personal stress and sorrow. This is no way to live, Father. We need You.
Thank You that You are with us. Your word says it, Your Spirit confirms it. The reason we are not to fear is because You are with us. You do not leave us. We don’t have to be afraid. Our God is not little, our God is mighty. Whatever comes at us, You are the shield between us and our fear. You give us joy in the midst of sorrow, peace in the midst of chaos, hope in the midst of despair, love in the midst of division.
Perhaps you are weary today and you feel like you can’t possibly take another step, live another day, face this opposition any longer. Oh, let Jesus strengthen you. I pray His divine strength and endurance and vitality into your very bones, lifting your spirit, renewing your mind. His Spirit can soar through every inch of you and help you get through the day, help you get through the week, help you live your life in gladness.
Jesus, You long to help us. You want to be the source of comfort, provision, and wisdom for us. I pray we hear Your voice, letting You guide us. Tell us our next steps, help us make our decisions, help us to choose goodness and mercy and truth. Do not let us be blinded by fear or anything else that would try to keep us from You and Your powerful help.
When we have fallen, Jesus, pick us back up. There is nothing that can divide us from You, Your word says so. You are always reaching out, always closer than we imagine, and You long for true unity with us, for reconciliation and redemption. You are righteous, You can cleanse us when we sin, You can heal us when we are broken, You can guide us back when we stubbornly run. This what I pray for us today.
Whatever we face, Jesus, let our eyes be upon You. Let our hearts be open to Your love. Let us reflect Your goodness. Let us face unflinchingly Your truth, no matter what anyone else may say. Let us give our fear to You, Your Spirit dispelling it into the wind. It is nothing compared to the courage of spirits strengthened by Your sacrifice and hearts burning brightly with Your truth. Jesus, let us not be deceived, grant us hope in Your promises.
I pray for us all as we need You every day. Be our God, be our fortitude. Bring us closer to You. Bind all fear from our lives.
