Episode 14: Jeremiah 33:6
Dear friends, welcome to Peace Prayers. My name is Juli, and I would love to be able to spend some time with you today. What I'd like to do is read a Scripture from the Bible about peace and then pray it together over our lives. That way we can have a few minutes to start our day with God's peace. I'm so excited to get started with you. Thank you for joining me today.
Today's verse is Jeremiah 33:6.
Behold, I will bring to it health and healing, and I will heal them, and I will reveal to them an abundance of peace and truth.
Let's pray together.
Father, this section talks to Your people in Judah who have betrayed You, who are going to be taken into captivity. They have abandoned the covenant that You made with them. And yet, despite the consequences of their actions, You promise to bring them back to You. There is restoration available for everyone.
Jesus, when we make mistakes, when we throw away the truth and the light that You have promised us, You will always be there to take us back. That picture of the prodigal son's father is definitely something that we can all receive if we will only come back.
And, LORD, I love how You promised this to them before they did anything to deserve it. It's so easy to, to waste our lives, to make mistakes, to be selfish. But, God, You always are thinking of our good. You're always desiring to bring us close to You.
So, LORD, there's so much brokenness. There's things that we just don't see how they can be fixed. And I don't think they can be by any earthly means, but the good news is, Father, You are not of this earth. You created the earth. You are able to restore it. So, God, we pray for Your restoration and Your healing on a global scale, but also LORD on an individual scale.
We need You to bring healing to the scarring and the wounds in our life. Some of them caused by others, but some of them caused by ourselves. Sometimes we're our own worst enemy. And LORD, I know that we have to deal with the consequences of our mistakes of our sin, And that's okay because we can learn from that. But the best thing, LORD, is that You are going to restore us. You're going to bring healing. I pray we surrender to that today.
And, Jesus, for the trials that are happening for those who can hear my voice, be our advocate. Help us to learn lessons that we need to learn. Help us to be able to accept Your forgiveness and Your restoration. Don't let our pride get in the way of us being close to You. Don't let our firm grip on the things we think we know keep us from Your truth. Break those bonds over us.
And, LORD, let restoration be our goal. Restoration to You above all things. And through that, God, we can have restoration flowing through the rest of our lives. Reconciliation with the broken relationships that we have around us. Restoration with the career paths that we needed, with the health that has been upset. There's so much, God, that we need from You in order to be able to walk it out wisely.
So help us to stop running. Help us to realize that even though we will have to pay the consequences of our actions, that there's always a way back to You. It's never too late. It's never too far. There is nothing that You cannot restore, God.
You are so mighty, so powerful, so strong, and so kind, so merciful. You are just, but You forgive. And we need that, LORD. We need that so much.
So I pray that for us today, LORD. Help us to receive that. Help us to long for it. And, again, help us lay down our pride and say, we wanna come back to the land. We wanna come back to You. And there is no way that You are not going to receive us, that You're not gonna run to us with Your arms open wide, that You're not gonna heal our cities, You're not gonna heal our land, You're not gonna heal our hearts, You're not gonna heal our relationships. And then, then we get the revelation of Your abundance of peace and truth. Let us hold out our hands and receive it today.
And, Father, let us be grateful and loving and help us to never leave Your side again, but strive to be closer and closer to You always. Oh, I do pray this for anyone who hears this today. Awaken that truth in their hearts.
In Your name, I pray. Amen.
