Dear friends, welcome to Peace Prayers. My name is Juli, and I would love to be able to spend some time with you today. What I'd like to do is read a Scripture from the Bible about peace, and then pray it together over our lives. That way we can have a few minutes to start our day with God's peace. I'm so excited to get started with you. Thank you for joining me today.

Today's verse is Mark 9:50.

Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can You make it salty again? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with each other.

Let's pray together.

God, I think we tend to identify salt with zest, with flavor, and we tend to identify peace as being boring, steady, content. It doesn't seem like they go together very well, but we are not called to be boring. We are called to be people who are full of life, who are full of fire. As human beings, we are full complete pictures of You and You are not boring. There is so much about You that needs to be shared, and so inside each of us, there's a bit of that salt.

So I pray, God, that we would have the courage and the fortitude to share it. We would be bold and courageous, and we would be wise. We would know how to share it, to share it in a way that's gonna be beneficial to those around us. And, Father, I pray that we wouldn't dilute ourselves. We wouldn't make ourselves bland by taking away the individual salt and fire that's a part of us, because it would be really difficult to get that back.

And, God, when we're able to share with each other the things that uniquely make us us and that show who You are, I believe we will have peace with each other. I don't think this is something that we can do on our own. We have to have Your help. We need the Holy Spirit to be able to speak words of wisdom to us, to be able to help us to connect with each other, and to connect in a way that's gonna be beneficial, to connect in a way that's going to help us both share and grow and learn together. I pray that we would listen to Jesus's words. I pray that we would study them.

Today, Father, I struggle with knowing exactly who I am and what I'm supposed to give. I'm sure there are others who are feeling the same way. So, I pray that we will open up our ears to You. Help us to receive the gifts that You have given us, that You created in us, and then to see those gifts in other people, to not be off put by them, to not be threatened by them.

But I wanna see with Your eyes who other people are. I wanna recognize the piece of You that's in them. I wanna be able to have true love for them. And when we are all in love with each other in that way, when we all have peace as our goal, then I think there's a unity that's found, and we can just live in a much better way. We won't have so many misunderstandings.

I think that's the way that You live with Yourself, Father, Son, and Spirit. And that's the example that we need to try to live up to. So today, I pray that if there's any person in your life that you just don't understand, that you don't like. Maybe that person is very difficult to get along with. Maybe that person has hurt you. I pray that you would step back and you would search your own heart and that you would look at them with Jesus' eyes, find that piece of salt in them, learn how that piece of salt interacts with yours and make peace together.

I know that's not easy, not fun, all of the time, but I really feel that that's important today. I really feel that's a lesson that God is teaching me and that God wants us all to learn. So do, Jesus, enable us to understand and to put into practice this verse, to study it more, to learn what You really meant by it, to learn the context surrounding it.

In Your name, I pray. Amen.

That is it for me today, my friends. Thank you so much for joining, and I hope you have a wonderful, peaceful rest of your day. If you'd like to connect with me, you can find me over on Instagram at thejulihernandez, and I'd love to see you there. Otherwise, we will see you on Friday.
