Dear friends, welcome to Peace Prayers. My name is Juli, and I would love to be able to spend some time with you today. What I'd like to do is read a Scripture from the Bible about peace, and then pray it together over our lives. That way we can have a few minutes to start our day with God's peace. I'm so excited to get started with you. Thank you for joining me today.

Today's verse is Matthew 5:9.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

One of the reasons why I chose this verse was because it's always felt very personal to me. I felt called to be a peacemaker. I do believe that this section of the Bible called the Beatitudes is full of things that we can all do and all enjoy. But we are called to be certain things, just like we have individual personalities and different gifts. And this is what I felt was mine. So I wanted to share that with you guys today.

Let's pray together.

Jesus, today I speak to those who feel called to be peacemakers. And we're not just talking about peace as in contentment, as in no division. We're talking about peace as in wholeness, not something that only comes from you. It's a gift direct from You. And so those of us who are called peacemakers or feel called to that, Lord, it can feel like a heavy burden, because how on earth could we possibly make other people whole?

There's so much division. There's so much fear. There's so much that we can't fix. And so, Lord, I pray that today we won't try to fix it. We won't try to do it on our own, but we will allow You to work through us. It's not about us. It's not about how we feel. But it is about Your gifts, and it's about Your desire for all of Your children to be whole.

And peacemakers, I believe, are brave because they say that it's possible for God's wholeness to be had by the people that He calls His children. And so I pray that we will listen to the peacemakers today. We will hear the song that they sing, in accordance to their obedience to Your will, Jesus.

Help them be brave. Help them be strong. Help them be wise. Help them give that gift of wholeness, that gift of peace that comes directly from You so that we are able to not be divided. We're able to feel Your love and Your joy in a way that we couldn't unless we were whole.

It's a thing of healing. So, really, peacemakers are healers. And I just thank You, God, that You created people to, to do that because we wouldn't survive very long if we were all just thinking about the individual things that we are concerned about.

So thank You, Jesus, and I thank You that these people are Your children. You look at them and You say: Wow, those are My kids. I'm so proud of you. And I pray that each peacemaker will feel that today, that they will feel that God is looking at them and saying, I'm so proud of you. Go get them, kid.

In Your name I pray, Jesus.

Amen.

That is it for me today, my friends. I wish you everlasting perfect peace for the rest of your day, and we will see you again on Friday. Thanks for joining.
