Episode Three: Psalm 34:14
Dear friends, welcome to Peace Prayers. My name is Juli, and I would love to be able to spend some time with you today. What I'd like to do is read a Scripture from the Bible about peace, and then pray it together over our lives. That way we can have a few minutes to start our day with God's peace. I'm so excited to get started with you. Thank you for joining me today.
Our verse for today is Psalm 34:14.
Turn from evil and do good. Seek peace and pursue it.
This says to me that peace is something we need to be intentional about, and it doesn't come when we're pursuing the wrong things. It's a product of us being deliberately good.
Let's pray together.
LORD, I am so grateful that You provided something like peace for us to pursue. We don't have to run around confused. There is a deliberate path for us, and we can walk on it with purpose. So I pray, LORD, that that would be high in our hearts today. Our goal would be to find peace. Our goal would be to pursue it because it's not something that's easily caught. It's something that you have to work at. So I pray, God, that we would be very intentional about working at it. Provide opportunities for us to make peace and to have peace within ourselves.
And, LORD, this verse also talks about us turning from evil and doing good. So I think those are the tools that we need to think about, and I pray that we would. I pray that we would examine ourselves, examine our actions, our thoughts, our words, and we would listen for Your Spirit telling us, no, this is evil. This isn't right. This is not good. This is not going to bring peace. And I pray that we would then turn those things into what will bring peace, to what will be good.
And, God, this is something that we can do every single day, so I pray that we would make it a pattern in our lives. God, You look over Your children, and You want us to succeed.
And that's why You wrote this verse for us, to help us do that. So when we're struggling, when we feel like we're just not getting anywhere, we feel like everything is against us, let's turn inward first and let's look at what's motivating us, And then let's have a more deliberate approach to how we wanna live our lives. And, God, I just thank You that we're gonna see peace on the other end. So, as we live that out today, God, favor us, watch over us, guide us, help us. Help us pursue peace, and then let us be so grateful for it. Let's share it with others.
